The story so far

1
Initial meetings
Discovering what the client needed, and outlining how Spotlight Profiling could add value.
2
Outlined "hopes"
"What does success look like?" A clear idea of how sessions would be tailored to the group, then profile questionnaires sent out.
3
Two half-day sessions
Sessions blending background on Spotlight with plenty of interactive, context-specific discussion. Profiles received.
4
Keeping the work alive
Tailored follow-up sessions for smaller teams and managers, plus the introduction of "Team Maps" so Spotlight stays part of what they do, not collecting dust.

Their hopes

Enhancing collaboration
The first hope was to communicate better, appreciate different perspectives, and work more efficiently as individuals and as a collective.
Raising awareness
Identifying what's working, what strengths are being leveraged, and what causes people, teams and projects to become "stuck".

The work, so far

Profiling 50+ staff
Two cohorts (soon to be three) received an introduction to Spotlight, providing insight via practical tasks and context-specific discussion.
Appreciation of how to "maximise"
Attendees leave day one knowing how to maximise their strengths, identify when they might be overplaying them, and tell colleagues how to get the best out of them ("Wriggle Room").

The impact

A proactive approach: nothing was "wrong", the support was requested to add to what was already in place.

Practical integration
Spotlight preferences included on key documents for others to see, Spotlight concepts brought into meetings, and "Team Maps" created to help smaller teams benefit too.
Understanding is growing
Chapters like "Wriggle Room" are shared so colleagues know how to keep each other in their sweet spot. Collective "Strength Spotting" builds appreciation for what people add to the group.

What they've said so far

"The Spotlight training was absolutely brilliant. I'm very, very pleased it matched my expectations."
"I've never resonated with that kind of training more in my life."
"I've learnt a lot about how other people view me, and that overusing my strengths can become a weakness."
